About us

WHO WE ARE

Liza Kuhn Interiors, LLC is a full-service interior design company, with project scopes including interior architecture, design, decorating, and overall project management, in the residential and boutique hospitality sectors. Liza draws on years of experience managing high-end residential projects, having worked on homes in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. Her work has been featured in House Beautiful, Domino, Dwell, and Interior Design Magazine, amongst others.

WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

Interior design has a powerful presence in our every day lives. Whether directly perceived or subliminally experienced, it has a direct effect on our psyches, bodies and human interactions. It guides (and misguides) us; a woven rug produces a haptic reaction underfoot, our spines conform to (or fight against) the arch of a chair back. The dialogue between human and interior is constant, inspiring and evocative. It is an opportunity to enhance human experience, no matter how big (or small) the client — we design for adults and children alike, adapting spaces to meet the unique needs of each individual.

WHERE WE STARTED

Liza started her career at a boutique design-build studio in Pennington, New Jersey, before designing for AD-100 firms including Victoria Hagan and Pembrooke & Ives. Liza received her MFA in Interior Design from Parsons, The New School for Design and her BA in Architecture from Princeton University.

OUTSIDE OF THE STUDIO

Liza is a mother, mentor, and professor. She is part-time faculty at Parsons School of Design, where she teaches interior design studios, professional practice courses, and design research seminars in the MFA, BFA, and Continuing Education departments. She has also taught at Pratt Institute and had writing published in Interior Educators.

When not in a design studio or classroom, Liza can be found near a softball field. She played four years of Division I Softball at Princeton University, where she later coached and recruited future collegiate athletes. Before relocating back to New Jersey, she co-founded NYC Softball Academy with her sister, and was a coach and mentor for young women in New York City.
